About Carpe Diem
Carpe Diem End-Of-Life Doula Services operates on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis. I acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples who have lived on, cared for and maintained relationships with this land for generations. As someone who supports individuals, families and caregivers through the end-of-life journey, I strive to approach this work with respect, humility and care.

Presence & Purpose

My work places particular emphasis on taking urgency out of the equation, supporting you to live fully until death and approach what comes next with intention rather than fear.
Here are the principles of my practice:
-
People come to this work with many different beliefs, cultural backgrounds and spiritual understandings. Some are religious. Some are not. All are welcome.
-
This work is non-directive. I do not guide you toward a particular belief system or interpretation, but support you in exploring what feels meaningful and true to you.
-
At its heart, this work is about choice — choosing how your time is spent, how your relationships are tended, how you wish to be remembered and how to meet the transition ahead, whatever you believe it holds.
-
When you wish, I can offer information about common experiences observed during active dying, as well as those described in near-death research. I share this information gently and without interpretation, with the intention of reducing fear, normalizing what may occur and helping you and your circle of support feel less alone as you approach the unknown.
